It is highly effective and the desired results are achieved nonetheless but at the cost of side effects and addiction, therefore, it is only wise to look for potential alternatives that not only improve the condition but also have no or minimal side effects, most importantly without causing adduction.

Benzodiazepines are synthetic sedatives that work to induce overall Calm and relaxation in the person consuming them. It works to slow down the activity of the brain lessening anxiety, convulsions, and hyperactivity. It received peak popularity during the year 1995 and is a widely used prescription to date.

Overdose and addiction happen only when the person takes the medication for a period longer than recommended by their doctor. Drugs like Valium should not be taken for more than two weeks and the therapy should be started with the least effective dosage.

Risk of Using Valium:

The one downside of using Valium for a long time is that it causes tolerance which is an easy paved path for addiction. Reliance happens rapidly and it very well may be challenging to treat as well. Getting a drug-dependent person off the medication can also be a tedious task.

Common side effects associated with Valium usage are dizziness, drowsiness, tiredness, headache, irritability, changes in personality, and fertility issues. Though manic behavior is rare it is not impossible.

Alternative treatments:

Medical associations have recommended that benzodiazepines such as Valium should only be prescribed to patients only if they are fit both physically and psychologically. Patients with a history of mental disorders or those who have abused drugs in the past and have not prescribed this drug.
